"Much has happened in the last few years. More tumors, surgery, radiation, pain, recovery, hope, love, patience, generosity, Family and so much more.

"The end of 2013 and beginning of 2014 had me in NY City for about 4 weeks. I underwent another surgery but this time they did focused Radiation during the surgery...

"A year later and after much recovery we discovered that the Cancer had metastasized all over. I underwent Microwave ablation to my right lung and right hip, (after fighting with the insurance on the coverage of this procedure for about 4-5 months, they finally approved it… ). Now they have found a new tumor on my C6 vertebrae and also found swelling on my spinal cord.

"The effects of this have been very noticeable. My legs are losing strength, I am walking with a cane so I don't fall on my face, and the pain has increased dramatically. I am experiencing tingling throughout my lower body and some numbing in my right thumb... It takes some time for your body to get used to [the prescription pain meds], the nausea, headaches, constipation, woozyness, and the overall feeling of ugh… all sucks...

"I just got off the phone with my Doctors. I have an impingement of the spinal cord which will require immediate attention. I will be on some steroids for a while to reduce any swelling and hopefully get some function and feeling back to my lower body.

"We still don't know why we are going through all of this but I know it is all a part of the Lords plan to shape, mold and purify us."

A Fraction of the Man…

"My brother and I could not be more opposite in many ways. One of us can repair a cell phone after putting it in a blender. One of us never seems to complain, no matter what has been dealt to us. One of us never seems to speak ill of anyone, the same one who would give everything we have for the sake of someone else. One of us has fought multiple rounds of Cancer, and can smile in the face of “stage 4”, and then there is the other one (me), who would be happy to be even a fraction of the man that he is. So when I needed to repair a toilet in my rental home, Chad Buckner came smiling and willing to help while I gagged, whined and pretty much just watched.

"Thanks, Bro, for your help!"

Honored to Call Him Brother

"You go through life interacting and building relationships with others. Most of them come and go. And we even forget about a lot of them. But occasionally you'll meet someone that impacts your view on life almost immediately. Someone that seems to have it all figured out. Since the first time I met Chad Buckner I was in aw! The strength, humility, sincerity and passion that this man demonstrates in the hard times most people could never understand is absolutely inspiring.

"I am honored to call him my brother. I love you Bro."

Refiner's Fire

While not Chad's story, the below video reflects his positive attitude and trust in God while in the face of gargantuan obstacles, the inspiration for the 'Refiner's Fire' front graphic. Chad continues to lift and inspire others while he is heated and pounded, stretched and twisted, forged in the furnace.

Got Your Back, Bro!

Anyone who knows Chad knows that he has your back. He's had mine a number of times, and I'm sure that many of you who know him can say the same.

A more kind, gentle, and giving individual I have never met...

It's time for us to have your back, Chad.
