Believe disabled people. Period.
This campaign came out of the Great Plastic Straw Debate of 2018 with many cities and corporations announcing the bans of plastic straws in favor of biodegradable or reusable ones. Many in the disability community shared online and in print why this will harm them with detailed explanations and stories. I wrote an essay for Eater.com about accessibility, hospitality, and the straw ban and included this sentence, "Believe disabled people. Period." This is a basic guiding principle that applies to practically every situation. You can also find similar apparel with the same message PLUS bunnies!
