About this campaign...
Sept 29th: I've received several requests to re-launch this campaign, as some people weren't aware of it earlier or want to buy more shirts. You'll find the origin story in the bottom, but here's a little update on how it all went down with the first campaign we ran with this design.
We sold a good amount of shirts and ended up raising over a thousand dollars to TWLOHA. After making the donation, I wrote them an email thanking them for their work and explaining how the donation came from the Supernatural family, and not just me.
This is the incredible reply I got:
We're happy to hear from you again. Thank you for you donation and kind words! We would not be able to do what we do without our supporters like yourself. Our hearts are heavy to hear that depression and suicide are not words that are unfamiliar to you. Please know that you're not alone, and we are listening.
We're glad to hear that you have had support from friends along the way. Here at TWLOHA, we say that people need other people often, but that is because we know how much is packed into that simple phrase. We were not made to do life alone, that is not healthy or realistic. We need people to remind of us hope when all we can see is pain. We need people who we can be open and honest with. There is healing to be found in knowing and being known by others.
We also understand how difficult it can be when you are struggling, but cannot seem to find the words. That's why we exist, we want to encourage people to being that hope is real, and that help is also very real. We want to let people know it's OK to not be OK, and serve as the bridge to finding them the help they need and deserve. In your message, you mention the stigma that is often attached to mental illness. We exist to end the silence, and remove the shame surrounding asking for help. It's our hope that by having these conversations, eventually we will be able to remove the stigma. We know that things like depression and suicide are very real and while others may not always understand, we must do our best to allow them grace as we attempt to educate each other.
Tiia, thank you again for your message and donation. Your story, and this campaign, have inspired us. We are encouraged by your hopeful words, and we wish you the best moving forward. We have no doubt you will continue to do great things with the kindness and courage you possess. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us moving forward; we would be happy to hear from you.
And in another, separate email:
"That's so rad that you're a Supernatural fan! We're so honored that you'd donate to TWLOHA. We're constantly so impressed with the community and support that Supernatural fans show one another, Jared, and of course us."
I'm also considering doing a charity shirt run to help with the heartbreaking refugee situation in Europe, so do follow @FangirlQuest on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr or Facebook if you're interested in keeping track with it all. Or join our mailing list for the latest news and updates.
If you have any questions or comments, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN:
After Asylum 14 in Birmingham Jared tweeted some troubling messages and the fandom quickly came together to post encouraging words, videos and fan art. The staggering amount of love and support I witnessed over just a few days (and the amazing fact that he's helped me with my personal struggles) inspired me to doodle this little thing.
I posted it on our Twitter and Tumblr expecting a few retweets, but surprisingly, it really resonated with Supernatural fans. People shared it thousands of times (even William Shatner!) and requested to have it on a shirt, so I decided to go for it and of course, to donate the proceeds to Jared's charity of choice - a cause that's very close to my own heart as well.
(In case you're not aware, he ran his own campaign recently. Read more here.)
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me! You'll find all the necessary contact info on Fangirl Quest's website.
All the love, Always Keep Fighting,
Tiia O. / Fangirl Quest
PS: He's ok now! He's with his family and has since thanked us for all the support. Here's to hoping for a quick recovery. We need our happy Moose back!
