About the Causes:
Smile Train is changing the world one smile at a time. Smile Train is an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to a single, solvable problem: cleft lip and palate. Millions of children in developing countries with unrepaired clefts live in shame, but more importantly, have difficulty eating, breathing and speaking. Cleft repair surgery is simple, and the transformation is immediate. Smile Train's sustainable model provides training and funding to empower local doctors in 85+ developing countries to provide 100% free cleft repair surgery in their communities. Echoes of Hope is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 by Stacia Robitaille and her husband, NHL Hall of Famer and current President of Business Operations for the LA Kings, Luc Robitaille.
Echoes of Hope was founded to specifically address the needs of youth during times of adversity. We assist emancipated and current foster youth and provide the resources they need to succeed in their pursuit of a post-secondary education. We believe that every youth deserves a shot at success, Echoes of Hope awakens the spirit of hope for our youth to do just that.
Over 4,000 eighteen year olds “age out” or emancipate each year from the foster care system in California alone. Without the proper tools, resources and support, these youth face staggering statistics in the areas of unemployment, homelessness, reliance on public assistance, incarceration and much more.
Despite these odds, many of our youth have achieved countless milestones. We have watched the youth in our program complete undergraduate degrees and go on to flourishing careers in Business, Teaching, Journalism, Nursing, Law, etc. In addition, several youth in our program are in the midst of and/or have obtained Masters and Law degrees.
By investing in these youth at the time of emancipation, we are able to change the outcomes of our youth.
A portion of the proceeds from each shirt will go directly to benefit emancipated and current foster youth in our program and those we aim to reach in the near future.
